INSTRKTIV Blog - Tools & efficiency

Compliance-safe. ai-enhanced. scalable on demand.

A strategic upgrade for former INSTRKTIV clients. See what has changed, and what is still rock-solid.

The compliance shift: what’s changed and why it matters

Unregulated AI = Legal exposure

AI-generated documentation can be fast, but without clear validation, it can produce errors, omit warnings, or misinterpret product use. That’s legally dangerous.

Under the proposed EU Product Liability Directive, manufacturers could face strict liability for harm caused by defective products, including harm tied to software and AI-driven documentation, even without proven negligence.

If your manual misleads, omits a safety step, or provides AI-fabricated instructions, you’re exposed, no matter how the error happened.

Manuals must now be validated, traceable, and accurate, with AI used responsibly and always under expert oversight.

With the upcoming EU Product Liability Directive, companies may soon face strict liability for harm caused by software, including AI-driven documentation, even without negligence. If your docs contribute to damage, you're exposed.

Digital Instructions: Optional or obligatory?

Under the European Accessibility Act (EAA), certain products must provide digitally accessible user instructions, especially those in the ICT, e-commerce, or self-service terminal sectors.

Meanwhile, the new EU Machinery Regulation (effective Jan 2027) allows manufacturers to deliver manuals in digital-only format, unlocking both efficiency and flexibility.

But beware: digital ≠ compliant unless it's accessible, which means screen-reader friendly, navigable, and structured to EN 301 549 / WCAG standards.

Safety standards are evolving fast

Your documentation must keep pace with shifting EU safety expectations:

  • Right to Repair (Directive EU 2024/1799): Clear, accessible repair instructions now mandated for many products.
  • EN IEC 60601 series (Medical devices): Updated requirements for risk communication in manuals.
  • EN 60335 series (Household appliances): Stricter safety guidance for user interaction.
  • EN ISO 20607 (Machinery): Detailed requirements for the structure, clarity, and risk warnings in operating instructions.
  • General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR): Requires a product-specific risk assessment, which must be reflected in the user instructions. Safety gaps in legacy content must be identified and closed.

Documentation as a Service. On tap when you need it

When your internal team hits capacity, or a project suddenly demands compliant, professional documentation, we step in. Our Documentation as a Service (DaaS) model gives you scalable, expert support without hiring or delays.

What you get:

  • Industry expertise: Specialists who know your sector’s language, standards, and compliance landscape.
  • Rush-ready workflows: We’re built for speed without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
  • On-demand capacity: Tap into our team when timelines tighten or headcount is frozen.
  • Seamless brand alignment: We integrate into your tone, structure, and existing design. It still feels like “you.”
  • Standards compliance: EN ISO 20607, EN 82079, MDR, GPSR, EAA. We know what’s required.
  • Smart content reuse: With our documentation management system, we create structured, modular content that’s easy to update, reuse, and publish, both digitally and in print.

From urgent overflow to steady weekly support - we become the documentation team you don’t need to hire.

AI is here. But not without risk.

AI is changing how documentation is created, but speed without control is a liability. At INSTRKTIV, we integrate AI where it makes sense and put human expertise where it matters most.

What sets our approach apart:

  • Expert oversight: Every AI-assisted output is reviewed by a senior technical writer to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance.
  • No blind trust: We never “copy-paste” AI-generated content without validation - and neither should you.
  • Compliance first: We apply AI within a framework aligned with the Product Liability Directive, EAA, and relevant safety standards.
  • Traceability: Our workflows ensure version control, change tracking, and full documentation auditability - no black boxes.

AI can help you go faster, but only with the right guardrails. We make sure it doesn’t create new risks while solving old ones.

Why former clients return

When the pressure is high, the stakes are legal, and the team is stretched. Our former clients return. Here’s why:

  • We fit where others don’t: From one-off projects to steady weekly support, we scale to your needs without bloating your team.
  • We keep you compliant: Regulations evolve - EN ISO 20607, EAA, GPSR, Product Liability - we track and implement what matters.
  • We upgrade your systems: We bring structure, reuse, and maintainability with our content management workflows.
  • We deliver fast: Whether it's a manual for a new product or a compliance update, we move quickly, without sacrificing quality.

“They helped us close a compliance gap in 48 hours.”
“It’s like having a senior technical writer on call but without the overhead.”
“We came back because we trust their process.”
